Deals, funding, and partnerships

  • Syndex Bio closes $15.5M seed round, unveils mcPCR. The Cambridge, UK-based biotech launched its methyl-copying PCR platform at AGBT following an oversubscribed $15.5 million seed financing led by ARCH Venture Partners. The technology aims to enable amplification of DNA methylation patterns alongside sequence information for epigenetics-driven diagnostics.

  • BC Platforms partners with OmicsBank to expand global datasets. The agreement adds large-scale clinical and multi-omics datasets from India and the UAE, increasing BC Platforms’ global data network to 187M+ patient lives and strengthening representation of underrepresented populations in AI-enabled drug development.

  • Bruker expands collaboration with Noetik. The companies are deepening their work on tissue foundational models to accelerate translational and therapeutic applications in spatial biology.

New product launches and technology advances

  • Waters introduces OneLab Secured Deployment Solution. A preconfigured, cybersecure workstation designed to simplify automation in regulated labs, integrating with Empower, MassLynx, and waters_connect platforms while supporting GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.

  • Waters launches 1 mm I.D. microflow LC columns with MaxPeak Premier Technology. The new columns deliver up to 2× higher sensitivity while reducing sample and solvent consumption, targeting high-throughput bioseparations, DMPK, and ’omics workflows.

  • SCIEX integrates Echo MS+ with ZenoTOF 8600. The pairing combines acoustic ejection with high-sensitivity accurate mass detection, enabling throughput of up to one sample per second for high-throughput screening.

  • Bruker advances Functional Proteomics 2.0. At AGBT, the company introduced new timsOmni mass spectrometry capabilities for deeper proteoform analysis and expanded its spatial biology portfolio, including the launch of CellScape XR for diagnostic and prognostic spatial proteomics.

  • IDT unveils expanded NGS portfolio. The roadmap includes the DNA EZ v2 Library Prep Kit, xGen Exome v2 Hyb Spike-In Panel, expanded UDI adapters, and an enhanced whole genome sequencing (eWGS) system aimed at improving sensitivity and workflow efficiency in oncology research.

  • Thermo Fisher Scientific launches Sequential Protein/DNA/RNA Extraction Kit. Designed for multi-omics research, the kit enables sequential extraction of protein, DNA, and RNA from a single sample – maximizing insight from limited biopsies and rare specimens.

  • Omega Bio-tek releases Mag-Bind Blood & Saliva DNA LSP Kit. A magnetic bead-based purification system optimized for automated, high-throughput workflows handling challenging blood and saliva samples.

  • Emerson introduces Rosemount QX1000 Continuous Gas Analyzer. The hybrid analyzer combines laser and paramagnetic detection technologies for regulatory-grade continuous emissions monitoring.

  • Exum launches next-generation Massbox. The updated LALI-TOF-MS platform targets applications in battery research, geoscience, mining, and advanced manufacturing with rapid elemental mapping and trace-level detection.
